Rubbing Up The Right Way With Must-Have Star Wars Stationery
As a kid, I collected a lot of knick-knacks. As a Star Wars fan, I had to have pretty much anything I could afford to buy. These Star Wars rubbers and pencil toppers were a good way to spend my pocket money.
These were collected in the early 1980s, with the possible exception of the old R2-D2 pencil topper (you'll know which one I'm referring to when you see it). This one is older.
Of course, pencil toppers were great for covering up the chewed end of your pencil!

Great collection! Are the pencil toppers rubber or plastic? I've been looking for a vintage chewbacca topper for my girlfriend's Christmas present (long story!) but have yet to find any for sale.
ReplyDeleteHi Rob - thanks for visiting. The very old (falling to pieces!)R2-D2 one is rubber. It's been a while since I looked at these guys (they are in storage) so I'd say they are plastic.
ReplyDeleteThey do come up from time to time on Ebay, and there are some sites specialising in selling vintage StarWars. For example, American website "StarWars superstore" has some of the other ones for sale now. http://www.starwarssuperstore.com/servlet/the-Stationary-fdsh-School-Supplies-cln-Pencils-fdsh-Pencil-Tops/Categories
Good luck - hope you find one soon!
